Private Label Soap FAQ

Use this guide to understand common project questions before starting your private label soap, custom packaging or OEM/ODM soap manufacturing project with ZSZ Soap.

How is your Guangzhou office related to your factory bases?

ZSZ Soap is operated by Qingjing companies under the same ownership and management system. The Guangzhou office is not a separate trading intermediary. It is our sales, project communication, sample coordination and small-order support office.

We place part of the sales, design, sampling and international communication team in Guangzhou because it is more convenient for recruiting talent, meeting customers, coordinating logistics and responding quickly to overseas buyers. Larger-scale production is supported by our factory bases in Qingyuan, Guangdong and Chizhou, Anhui.

The Guangzhou office can also support sample development, packaging confirmation and certain small-batch projects, depending on product type, stock status and packaging requirements.

Why are your website and YouTube channel newly launched?

Our independent website and YouTube channel are new channels built to make our OEM/ODM service easier for overseas buyers to understand.

Before launching this website, our business was mainly developed through domestic brand supply, offline foreign trade customers, factory projects, B2B communication, exhibitions such as the Canton Fair, and long-term supply-chain resources. The website is new, but our manufacturing support, trade experience and project resources are not new.

We do not rely heavily on frequent social media posting as our main proof. Many private label projects are handled through direct buyer communication, samples, packaging development, factory coordination and long-term cooperation.

Can customers visit your office, sample area or factory bases?

Yes. For customers with clear project needs or active cooperation plans, we can arrange visits by appointment. Customers may visit our Guangzhou office for project communication, sample discussion and packaging confirmation.

Factory visits, production line review, supply-chain communication, third-party inspection or on-site quality checks can also be arranged according to the project stage and schedule.

What types of soap products do you support?

We support private label soap, handmade soap, functional soap, soap base, hotel and travel soap, custom packaging soap and other OEM/ODM soap projects.

Common product directions include turmeric soap, kojic acid soap, aloe vera soap, charcoal soap, tomato soap, amino acid soap, goat milk soap, sea salt soap, transparent soap base, multi-color soap base, cold process soap and customized formula projects.

Do you support OEM and ODM?

Yes. For OEM projects, we can produce according to the customer's confirmed product direction, formula requirements, packaging artwork and order details.

For ODM projects, we can help recommend product type, formula direction, fragrance, color, shape, packaging structure, label layout and sample plan based on the customer's target market, sales channel and budget.

Can your Guangzhou office handle samples or small orders?

Yes. Our Guangzhou office can support product communication, sample preparation coordination, packaging confirmation and certain small-batch projects.

For some ready-stock products or simple labeling projects, small orders under 500 pieces may be handled more flexibly, depending on stock availability, product type, labeling method and packaging requirements. Larger quantities, special formulas or more complex packaging projects are usually coordinated with our factory bases.

Do you have ready-stock products for private labeling?

Yes. Some regular formulas and popular soap products can be supplied from ready stock or semi-finished stock, then customized with the customer's label, logo or basic packaging.

This option is suitable for market testing, fast launch, low MOQ trial orders and first cooperation projects. Availability depends on product type, stock status, packaging method and order quantity.

What is your MOQ?

MOQ depends on product type, formula, packaging method and customization level. Ready-stock products and simple labeling projects usually have more flexible MOQ.

Projects involving exclusive formulas, special colors, custom molds, complicated packaging or special materials usually require a higher MOQ. We support trial orders and low MOQ projects where possible, but the final MOQ needs to be confirmed based on the actual product plan.

Can you customize soap shape or make a new mold?

Yes. Standard shapes can be selected from existing mold options. If the customer needs a unique shape, logo-embossed design or special structure, a new mold may be required.

Custom mold cost usually starts from around USD 300, depending on size, shape complexity, structure and mold requirements. The mold can be reserved for the customer's brand project based on the agreed order terms.

Is packaging and label customization free?

Basic label placement, regular private label packaging and simple layout adjustments are usually supported without extra design service fees. We can help place the customer's logo, brand name, product name, barcode and basic text into the packaging layout.

Extra costs may apply if the project involves special packaging structure, complex artwork, premium materials, small-batch printing, foil stamping, UV effects, special boxes, gift sets or packaging proofing.

Do you provide free samples?

We can provide free samples for certain existing products, but international shipping costs are usually paid by the customer.

If the sample requires a new formula, special color, custom fragrance, exclusive mold or customized packaging, sample development fees, mold fees or packaging proofing fees may apply. All costs will be confirmed before sample preparation.

How long does sample development take?

Existing product samples can usually be arranged faster. Customized samples depend on formula, fragrance, color, shape, packaging and the customer's confirmation speed.

Basic samples can often be prepared within a shorter time, while new molds, special packaging or multiple rounds of adjustment may require more time. Clear product direction and packaging requirements help speed up the process.

Why are prices shown as reference ranges?

Soap prices are affected by order quantity, product weight, formula complexity, fragrance, color, shape, packaging material, printing method, mold requirements, document requirements and shipping method.

In general, larger quantities offer better unit prices. However, more complex formulas, premium packaging or deeper customization may increase cost. Website prices are reference ranges only. Final quotation depends on the confirmed project details.

Which currency do you use for quotation?

International quotations are usually provided in USD for easier comparison and communication across different countries.

Customers may convert the quoted USD price into their local currency based on the current exchange rate. Other currency arrangements can be discussed depending on order size, payment method and cooperation terms.

What payment methods do you support?

We support common international trade payment methods, including bank transfer, platform-supported payment methods and other agreed payment solutions depending on order type, amount and customer location.

Sample fees, mold fees, packaging proofing fees and bulk order payments may use different payment arrangements. Final payment details will be confirmed in the proforma invoice or order agreement.

What are your payment terms for bulk orders?

Bulk orders usually require a deposit before production and balance payment before shipment or cargo release.

Common terms are 30%–50% deposit, with the balance paid after production is completed and before shipment. For first-time cooperation, custom packaging, custom molds, special customization or small-batch projects, a 50% deposit is commonly required.

After production, we can provide photos and videos for confirmation. Customers may also arrange third-party inspection or on-site inspection. After inspection confirmation, the balance should be paid before goods are released to the forwarder or shipped.

Who pays the international shipping cost?

International shipping cost is usually paid by the customer unless both sides agree on a delivered-price arrangement.

Shipping cost depends on destination, shipping method, cargo weight, volume, delivery term and required delivery time. Product price usually does not include international freight unless clearly stated in the quotation.

Can we use our own freight forwarder?

Yes. If the customer has their own freight forwarder, we can coordinate delivery, packing information, shipping documents and handover according to the forwarder's requirements.

If the customer does not have a forwarder, we can help recommend logistics options such as express, air freight, sea freight, DDP, DAP, FOB or EXW depending on budget, destination and delivery schedule.

How long does shipping take?

Shipping time depends on destination country, shipping method, customs clearance and logistics route.

Express or air freight is usually faster and suitable for samples, small orders or urgent projects. Sea freight is more cost-effective for larger orders but takes longer. Estimated shipping time can be confirmed after destination and shipping method are selected.

Can you share previous customer cases?

We have experience with many customized private label projects, including larger brand and channel customers. However, private label projects often involve confidentiality agreements, brand protection and customer commercial privacy.

For this reason, we cannot publicly display all customer names, packaging designs or project details. For serious project discussions, we can provide non-confidential product references, sample directions, factory photos or relevant experience explanations where appropriate.

How do you support quality and documents?

We support sample confirmation, production follow-up, packaging inspection and pre-shipment checking based on the confirmed order requirements.

Depending on product type, formula, packaging and target market, we can help coordinate document support such as MSDS, ingredient information, quality-related documents or other compliance references. Final document availability depends on the specific product and market requirements.

What is the usual order process?

The usual process is: customer provides requirements, we confirm product direction and quotation, sample or packaging plan is approved, deposit is paid, production is arranged, production is completed, photos or videos are provided, inspection is confirmed, balance is paid, and shipment is arranged.

If the project includes a new mold, special formula or complex packaging, additional sample development and confirmation steps will be added before bulk production.

What if I am not sure which soap product to choose?

You can tell us your target market, sales channel, budget, expected product function, packaging style and estimated quantity. We can recommend suitable soap types, packaging options, MOQ, sample method and reference cost range.

For new brands or new product tests, we usually suggest starting with samples or a small trial order first. After confirming product quality, packaging effect and market feedback, the customer can decide the formal order quantity.
